The value of Calibrate
One of higher education's noble goals is more employable graduates. But how do you know what you're teaching achieves that goal? That's where Calibrate comes in by helping you answer two crucial questions. What skills should I be teaching to ensure more employable graduates? How do I know?
If you want more employable graduates, at some point you're going to have to reach out to the people who hire them and get their input. And that's the real value of Calibrate. It makes it easy to reach out to those in industry and answer that first question above. And you'll know the answer to the second question because those who hire the graduates told you so.
The benefits of Calibrate
The first benefit of Calibrate is that everything in Calibrate is based on the common language of skills. In this way, educators and hiring managers can speak a common language of what each needs.
The second benefit of Calibrate is how easy it makes it for industry to provide feedback to academia. The intuitive user interface and step-by-step instructions ensure that reviewers know exactly how to provide valuable feedback.
The third benefit of Calibrate is the process of "skill matching" called alignment. Alignment ensures the skills taught in Courses are the same skills required by hiring managers in industry. The ability to quickly identify those skills for educators is of great benefit.
The fourth benefit is how easy Calibrate makes it to identify skills gaps in a curriculum. Are you missing important skills? Are you teaching unnecessary skills?
Finally, perhaps the best benefit of all is that Calibrate makes it an easily repeatable process, which means it's easy to keep everything up to date. That's important in a world where skill demands are constantly changing.
