Purpose: This document provides step-by-step instructions for creating a new Soft Skill to add to a Job Profile in Calibrate. When you create a skill in Calibrate, it's referred to as an Account skill because it is available account wide.
Audience: This document is meant to be used by Job Profile Editors and Job Profile Reviewers who want to add a Soft Skill to a Job Profile that is not already in the Calibrate library.
Before you begin: Soft Skills are specific behaviors and characteristics that demonstrate general strengths and describe the most important social and behavioral characteristics.
You can find the definition of the capitalized words used in this User Guide in the SkillsEngine dictionary located here.
Instructions:
1] On the Skills tab of the Job Profile page, click the New Skills button in the upper right.
2] From the menu that appears, click Soft Skill.
3] The Create a new Soft Skill screen appears.
4] Decide on a title that describes the Soft Skill. Titles are generally between one and three words long.
5] Start entering the Soft Skill in the Title textbox.
6] As you enter the title, the Similar Existing Soft Skills list at the bottom of the screen populates with already-existing Soft Skills.
7] Scroll through the Similar Existing Soft Skills list and see if the Soft Skill you’re trying to create already exists in the Library.
8] If it does, check the checkbox to the left of the Soft Skill that you want to add to the Job Profile.
NOTE: You can add more than one Soft Skill at one time by checking multiple checkboxes. This keeps you from having to restart this process for each new skill you wish to add. |
9] If you checked at least one checkbox, click Add to add the skill(s).
10] If you still wish to create an Account skill, continue filling in the Title field.
11] Enter a description of the Soft Skill in the Description text box. The description should include some details about what the Soft Skill includes.
12] Click Create.
Note: After you create the Account skill, if you need to edit it, not only can you change the title, you can also change the skill type and skill category. |
